Electric City Speedway is happy to announce its 2008 racing calendar for the Fastest Track in Montana.
With the hugely successful car show last year we are hoping to again partner with The OP (The Other Place) for the annual Electric City Speedway car show to be held at their facility on Saturday April 19, 2008 with more details to come.
The 2008 racing season is set to open Friday & Saturday, April 25th & 26th with a 7:30 start time. The same five classes of racing action will return to the high banked speedway with the Amsoil Dirt Track Series featuring WISSOTA Street Stocks, Super Stocks, Modifieds and the powerful Late Models. Also the fan popular Not So Pure Stocks will be on hand for regular racing events.On June 21st, we celebrate the 55th Anniversary of racing at the Speedway with all five classes on hand. In July we start the month off with the Fireball Special on Friday July 4th, & Saturday July 5th. This event will feature the WISSOTA Late Models. All four of the other weekly racing classes will be on the card for both nights.
Thursday July 17th will be a VERY SPECIAL Late Model event with the WISSOTA TriStar Challenge Series featuring the BEST of Late Models in a Five State Region. Also on hand for this event will be the Bud Light Modifieds racing as a support class that night. Electric City will follow up with a regular night on the July 26th and on August 1st & 2nd the Big Sky Sprint Tour Winged Warriors will take to the track for two day event.
Saturday Night August 16th we will again Celebrate Life with the 3rd Annual Derek Dowson Memorial Race for Late Models. Details to follow, but you can be sure it will be SPECIAL just as it has in past years.
Another AWESOME Weekend of racing action will be held on August 30th and 31st with Can/Am Sprint Challenge as they travel over 100 mph chasing the $CASH for first place. On the card for the weekend will be the Modifieds and a combo of Streets Pures and Supers. The point champions for the track will be crowned on august 31st.
The final event of the season is the Montana Roundup featuring the Late Models Modifeds, Supers, Streets, and Not So Pure Stocks racing for the winners share each night. This hugely popular event draws nearly a hundred cars from all across Montana with a huge crowd on hand each night. This is not only a race but a must see event for all race fans.
